Stainless Steel: The Preferred Strapping Materials of Shipping Companies
Cargo shipping companies use various materials for transporting goods and merchandise. The qualities of the materials being used depend on the size and weight of the cargo to be transported. Steel strapping used to be the only suitable material for Heavy Duty applications. However, as improvements were sought, polyester strapping becomes another option for cargo shipping entrepreneurs.
Polyester or plastic straps used to be ideal only for small packages. Entrepreneurs also avoided using it for flat sheets or cargo with rough and sharp edges because the edges might cut the polyester. However, despite of the drawbacks, polyester has a round edge that allows it to fit smoothly around the package, even if the shape is irregular. It is also advantageous for goods with sensitive surface like tires and paintworks because the round edge will not damage the surface.
While polyester proves to have some advantages over other banding materials, stainless steel is still preferred by most cargo shipping companies because it is the only banding material that can hold heavy loads for a longer time. This is particularly useful for long travels especially for shipping of goods that last for months. It can also withstand sharp and rough edges like flat sheets of metals.
Stainless steel is known to be malleable. It can be shaped into thin strips and stretch into lengths without breaking or cracking. Cargo shipping companies prefer using
stainless steel straps
in transporting heavy loads because of their distinct properties. In addition to being highly malleable, stainless steel is not prone to react to changes in temperature. This makes stainless steel an ideal material for packages which might likely be affected by changes in temperature.
To efficiently strap the packages, companies use

. This secures the cargo from possible displacement during the shipment. Thus, problems on disorganization of cargos can be avoided.

Its application also applies to mounting of street signs and signals, securing sensors or cameras to poles, etc. In the same manner as cargo shipping, companies in other industries choose stainless steel over other strapping materials because of its distinct qualities.
