Wondering how to take care of those OE Ford Wheels of yours? So am I. I found some tips on how to take care of them as best I can .. which is why I decided to share them with you.
The best way to clean your wheels is to simply use mild soap some warm water. You may think that I must be kidding and that this is some kind of joke, but I’m not even kidding. At all.
The thing about using cleaners to clean your Ford Fusion Wheels is that these cleaners have different and really harsh abrasives. You never know if these elements and substances are going to completely melt your Factory Rims or if they’re just going to leave some sort of minor scratch; either way, I know that you don’t want to take the chance in harming your expensive and fancy Ford Rims . Some mild soap and warm water will serve as great sufficient for routine cleaning.
After you clean your chrome-plated wheels, they sell nonabrasive waxes for chrome wheels to prevent surface corrosion. If you have the clear-coated wheels on your car, don’t apply that wax or even the cream. Also, try not to let any tire cleaners come in contact with your OEM Wheels .. and try not to spray cold water on hot wheels. Just don’t so it. If you go get your car washed, say no when they try to use steam cleaners or strong chemicals on your wheels.
If you want to brighten your polished wheels that don’t have a clear coat on them, use a polishing cleaner that’s provided to you by the manufacturer.
The best way to install and remove the wheels is to take it to your tire dealer. Even if you think you know how to take off your Ford Fusion Wheels .. don’t do it. To remove and install wheels, there are special tools required and even special machines that they have to use to give you the full performance of the wheels that you paid for!
The initial mounting of the wheels on your car requires positioning and starting the lugs by hand. After this, the lugs are then able to be pre-tightened by using either a hand-wrench or a torque stick. The final torque setting is then applied by using a calibrated torque wrench. Sounds complicated right? This is exactly why you shouldn’t do it yourself!
If you’re like me (which I really hope you’re not), then you might bump into curbs more than enough times and you sometimes don’t know if your 2008 Ford Fusion Wheels are damaged or not. If you think you hit it pretty bad, then you might want to take it to your local Tire Dealer to make sure that everything is okay.
If you’re driving & you experience either a vibration or some sort of pulling to either the left or the right, chances are that you really damaged your wheel and you should get it checked A S A P. You may be the type of guy (or girl) that really thinks they can look at the wheel and determine whether there’s something wrong or not, but in all reality .. you really can’t. If you’re trained and you have the machinery to do it, then by all means you can – but most of you don’t.
