roll bar with a diamond plate tool box?

My friend has a 1998 Chevy Z71 extended cab and has a real nice Diamond plate tool box and was wondering if he could put a Roll Bar over top of it by either finding one or custom making it himself to offer protection but fit over the “wings’ of the box?

You will either have to cut the box to make the roll bar fit so that its bolted to the frame or move the tool box back about 6 inches..
